March 1st, 2008 - 28th Annual "Snow Row", Hull Lifesaving Museum, Hull MA (4.5 miles open water)

March 8th - IROW Board Meeting

May 10th - Lake Geneva Marathon and Adventure Races, Lake Geneva, Wisconsin are welcoming all 'human powered' craft including rowing shells! This extreme event includes a certified marathon, marathon walk, marathon relay, 22 mile Euro cross-country race on the famous Lake Geneva Lake Path, Half marathon, 10k, 5k, and a run/kayak adventure race.

May 17th - Milford D. Lester Memorial Cup, Lake George (6 miles open water). IROW sponsored race. Registration is from 8:30 AM - 9:30 AM, Skippers Meeting is @ 9:45 AM, Start Time is 10 AM. For more information click here or contact Bob Tarrant.

May 17th - Essex River Race, Essex MA (7 miles open water)

June 7th - Delavan Lake Triathlons and Adventure Races, Lake Lawn Resort in Delavan, Wisconsin. This triathlon series will include Olympic, sprint and supersprint distance triathlons and an Adventure race. The Adventure race consists of a 6 mile cross country run and 12 mile kayak. (They're including rowers!!!)

June 15th - "Rowing till Reggae", Rye Harbor NH to Star Island and back (13 miles open ocean) post-party at Saunder's Rye Harbor (Live Reggae Band :-)

June 28th - "Black Fly Regatta", Waterford VT (4 mile, somewhat flat)

*June 29th - New England Outrigger Championships (new rowing scull class in 2008), Portland, ME (15 mile open ocean in Casco Bay, point-to-point)

July 12th - "Blackburn Challenge" Gloucester MA (20+ miles, 13 of which is open ocean)

July 19th IROW sponsored "Arthur Martin Memorial Race " Kittery, ME (8 and 4.5 mile Flat Water Courses in Spruce Creek) changed venue from historic "Isle of Shoals" race

July 26th - NAOWRC, San Francisco Bay (10 Miles) 3rd Annual North American Open Water Rowing Championship

 

 

 

 

August 8th - 11th - "Annual IROW Weekend of Rowing", Acadia Nat'l Park, ME (Southwest Harbor, Moorings Inn, Mt. Dessert Island) IROW sponsored tour.

August 31th - Canadian Sculling Marathon & Half Marathon, Ottawa CAN (The Ottawa-New Edinburgh Club) 26, 13, or 6 miles flatwater. For more information Gillian Willamson

Oct 3, 4 & 5 "IROW at Craftsbury VT" …. possibilities being explored. Save the date! IROW sponsored event.

Oct 11th - 2nd Annual Columbus Weekend "Voyage to Star Island", Wallis Sands Beach, Rye NH

Oct 19th - Ernestine Bayer Race on the Charles, Boston MA (during the HEAD of the CHARLES regatta) 3 miles flat water. IROW sponsored event.

Oct 25th - "Head of the Weir", Hull Lifesaving Museum, Hull MA (5.5 Miles Open Water)

Nov 8th - Plymouth Bay Row, Nelson's Beach - Plymouth MA, Saquish Rowing Club (3.5 Mile Open Water) Need to confirm date

Dec - 13th - Holiday Row on the Charles - Boston MA (IROW's version of Jingle Bell Row) 3 Miles Flat
