SUMMER ON THE SAKONNET!

Get ready for a fantastic summer tour on Narragansett Bay in Rhode Island. Rick Jacques and Don Libbey have put together a wonderful 4 day event that will run from Sunday, July 26th through Wednesday, July 29th. This open water rowing venue will provide different landscapes and scenic and historic views each day.

The Sakonnet Point Club will serve as our base where we can store boats, meet and start our row each day. Check out the links below for more details on lodging, logistics and local lure.

LOGISTICS

We will kick of the tour on Sunday evening at the home of Sarah & Don Libbey for a "Welcome to Sakonnet" appetizer gathering. For anyone who plans to arrive earlier on Sunday there will be a 1:00 meeting and row at Ferolbink Farm. This is where we will meet each morning for coffee and bagels to plan our daily destinations.

Sunday Evening: Appetizers at our hosts: Sarah & Don Libbey (6:00 pm)

Monday: Morning and Afternoon rowing tour (8:00 am)

Tuesday: Morning and Afternoon rowing tour (8:00 am)
Tuesday Evening: Night Out - Newport or Local

Wednesday: Morning row (8:00 am)

LOCAL LURE
The Sakonnet area offers some fabulous local interest. Click on the underlined text below for more information. While in town you might want to check out Newport and it's historic mansions, sip some wine at the Sakonnet Vineyards or visit the Herreshoff Sailing Museum. Folks might also enjoy some of the local art galleries or a trip on the East Bay Bike Path. Other beautiful destinations include Bristol Harbor and Horseneck and Newport Beaches.
